Synopsis

PC JR kicks off its summer festival with 3 COOL new musicals for kids of all ages.

July 9 - 20: In Swak!, A Fractured Fairytale, the Frog Prince hops off on a journey to find a Princesses' kiss to break a Witch's spell and turn him back into a Prince. Alas, the Frog Prince's kiss turns Princesses into frogs! Find out who is behind it all! SWAK has a catchy POP score.

"We brought our daughter to see SWAK last week, and we're so happy we did! From start to finish, this is a seriously fun show. It's a treat for adults (my husband and I were laughing hysterically!) and our daughter was enthralled. Everyone should see SWAK--it's a total delight!"
--Mary McCormack, Tony Award-winning actress from Broadway's Boeing, Boeing

"Like everything else about the Midtown Children's Musical Theatre Festival, SWAK is an unabashed joy! Terrific music, an adorably sassy script, and wall-to-wall zingers that keep parents laughing along with the kids. And the performances are top-notch--especially the hilarious, rubber-faced Ryan Knowles, whose star-turn as the lovelorn frog is, well, ribbeting."
--Bruce Kluger, Contributing Editor, Parenting magazine

"SWAK is a revelation. It plays like the best of Disney or Pixar entertainment--compelling and moving to the kids, funny and knowing to the adults. It is the first musical my hyperactive six-year-old ever sat through. At the end, he was so enthralled by the actress playing the evil-witch-turned-princess that he asked her for a 'magic kiss.' SWAK is, indeed, a magic kiss to parents."
--Judith Newman, Allure Magazine

July 23 - August 3: The True Colors of Weedle, the second festival show, is about a boy born without color in the faraway land where everyone and everything is a kaleidoscope of color. Young Weedle travels far and wide to find out how to live in an outcast's world, and meets new fantastical friends along the way. Join Weedle on his special journey. It's an inspiring story with a moving score.

August 6 - 17: More Fractured Fun! Rapunzarella White...a Dysfunctional Family Fairytale. Rapunzel, Cinderella and Snow White are triplets who get stolen away from their Queen mother by an angry witch. Each Princess is catapulted into her own fairy tale, awaiting rescue by their own personal (bumbling) Prince Charmings: Beau, Barry and Burly Bob. Will it be happy ending for all? Memorable songs, comical characters and a twisted tale.
