INCREDIBLE
Posted on 08/06/2008 at 9:49PM by thtgrl7958
I havent been to a bway show in over 20yrs and was fortunate enough to treat my 13yr old son today to see a show I knew would be 1st rate...watching the movie all these years was always fun but seeing Patti Lupone as Mama Rose was the thrill of a lifetime! Thank God for the wonderful usher who was able to move us from the balcony to the 1st row for act 2 because of a very noisy "shusher". The entire cast was perfection! By the end of the show I cried tears of joy! BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!!!

Must See Show

Loved this show. Mamma Rose, Herbie, and Louise were wonderful! They all worked well together. The entire cast was very talented. If you only have time to see one Broadway play in New York - this is a must see!!!

Patti LuPone is a stage goddess!

The entire cast is first rate, with Laura Benanti and Boyd Gaines standing out, but make no mistake this production is all about Patti and her unmatchable way of commanding the stage. I have never felt as moved by a performance as I did by hers, and when she closes Act 2 with "Roses Turn", she brought tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my skin. I am blessed to have seen her in both Sweeney Todd and now in Gypsy tackling and making two of the strongest leading lady roles in theatre her own.

Patti also brought tears to my eyes in "Roses Turn." I never cry at anything and this play moved me!
