 | | Will Chase | The Goodspeed Opera House has announced two productions for its fall 2008 season.
First up, Will Chase and Malcolm Gets will star in Neil Bartram and Brian Hill's two-character musical The Story of My Life, to play the Goodspeed Opera House's Norma Terris Theatre, October 10-November 2. The production will be directed by Tony Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr. The musical tells the story of childhood friends Thomas (Chase) and Alvin (Gets) and how their relationship changed their lives.The creative team includes Robert Brill (sets), Wade Laboissonniere (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting), Carl Casella (sound), David Holcenberg (music direction), and Jonathan Tunick (orchestrations).
Next will be the world premiere of Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, a stage adaptation of the beloved holiday tale, to play the Opera House, December 7-January 4. The show, to be produced in association with the Jim Henson Company, will be directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, and feature a book by Gattelli and Tim McDonald, and a score by Paul Williams. The music supervisor is Emmy Award winner John McDaniel. Casting will be announced at a later date.
