(© Michaellongoria.com) | Michael Longoria will succeed Tony Award winner John Lloyd Young as Frankie Valli in the Broadway hit Jersey Boys on Tuesday, November 27. He will play six performances per week; the actor who will play Valli at the Wednesday and Saturday matinees will be announced shortly.
Longoria created the role of Joe Pesci in the show, which tells the story of the music group The Four Seasons, and has understudied the role of Valli, going on many times. He previously appeared in the Broadway musical Hairspray.
Jersey Boys, directed by Des McAnuff, was first produced at the La Jolla Playhouse and opened at Broadway's August Wilson Theater on November 6, 2005. In addition to Young, the show stars Christian Hoff, J. Robert Spencer, and Daniel Reichard, who will depart the show in January 2008.
